  8. This version is for MC68020/Kickstart 3.0 and higher. A MC68000/kickstart 2.0

  11. AmiComSys is a program that you use to communicate with other people on
  12. a tcp/ip-net - e.g Internet. At the same time it make it easier to find
  13. people's IP-addresses, for use with Internet games, and home pages.
  14.  
  15. It uses AMarquee.library by Jeremy Friesner & Håkan Parting for most of
  16. it's network handling.
  17.  
  18. Now you can say "Hello!" to your friends on the net, or just see if they are
  19. online.
  20.  
  21. You can:

  24. * send WEB-requests.
  25. * transfer files.
  26. * have a public realtime chat

  97. BUGFIX:
  98. Error in my copy of LibFreePooled() amiga.lib replacement.
  99. Memory was not freed correctly on kick 3.0+ versions of Amiga OS :(
  100. That bug probably has been in AmiComSys for a very long time, but until now
  101. there haven't been any Enforcer hits caused by this AFAIK. So if your
  102. copy of AmiComSys occasionally crashed with "Corrupt memory list detected in FreeMem"
  103. at exit that shall be corrected now.

  105. Removed the MessageAccess pattern matching field from the network
  106. settings. It caused much trouble if it was incorrectly set.

  108. NEW:
  109. Free for chat status users now have a help bubble left to their entry
  110. in the contact list. Only registered users sees this, like any other
  111. status images, e.g. away and busy status. The file name of the "Free for chat"
  112. status image is images/status_chat.

  114. Added note in the help bubble for unregistered users on the message
  115. ignore check box in the Ignore List.

  123. The message requesters now uses MUI instead of Gadtools. This means
  124. that all AmiComSys's windows now have a similar layout. Those of you who like
  125. the GadTools variant, that have been of use in AmiComSys since version 1.12 and
  126. there fore is well tested, don't need to worry. You can switch between the
  127. two variants by changing the option "Use MUI requester" on the Windows-page-Message
  128. Requester-tab in the general settings.

  130. SendFile will now ask if it shall overwrite an existing file or resume
  131. transmission.

  133. The SendFile now has two CPS-counters(kbytes/sec.).

  135. Added Sound settings page. AmiComSys will now play sounds on several occasions.

  137. Relayouted the main window. The toolbars are inside scrollers, that
  138. disappear when they are not needed. The message text field is in a popup
  139. window, which will open if you click the 'New' button.

  141. The HideIP feature is now available for anyone, both registered and
  142. unregistered users. I changed this to prevent people to find ip-addresses,
  143. to flood, with AmiComSys. This feature is enabled by default. To turn it off go
  144. to the network settings page.

  146. Implemented Multi-Select in ClientList (so now it's possible to send normal
  147. messages to a multiple number of clients).

  149. Reworked Message History. Now the text is saved in the directory PROGDIR:mhistory
  150. and pages is loaded dynamicly.
  151. The result is much faster startup and exit of AmiComSys, offline, and closing of MH Window.

  200. 'Snapshotable requesters' added to the Windows->Message requesters settings
  201. page. Normally AmiComSys would decide the size and position of the message
  202. requesters. But if you aren't satisfied with message requester sizes that
  203. AmiComSys decides maybe you should check this one. Then you are able to
  204. snapshot the windows like any other MUI-window.

  208. BUGFIXES:
  209. Freed memory that were not allocated or NULL pointer while adding a user
  210. to the Ignore List.

  212. When the entire application was iconified and then opened with the
  213. commodities Exchange Show-command, the window opened, but the icon did
  214. not disappear from the Workbench.
  215.  
  216. The refreshing trouble, caused by a MUI-bug with MUIA_ShowMe,FALSE,
  217. which exists only in simple refresh windows have now been worked around.
  218. In the AmiComSys FAQ you were told to switch to smart refresh and redraw
  219. with clear, when you had problems with overwritten window borders at the right
  220. and bottom of the main window and the PChat window.
  221. You could now switch them back to 'Simple refresh' and
  222. 'redraw without clear' without any trouble.
  223.  
  224. The window spacing will now directly get its user preferred default
  225. size after a change in the MUI-prefs. This is the four areas of the main
  226. window that show a rubber band if you drag a toolbar or another part of
  227. the GUI on them. If you drag & drop a GUI-object into one of these areas
  228. that object will move to the new position.

  230. SendFile SavePath in the misc-settings was not saved.
  231.  
  232. It was not possible to turn off "send confirmation" for the return key in the
  233. message requester. (This should only be possible for registered users.)

  236. The events requesters, "User connected" and "User disconnected" showed host name
  237. 'Privacy' even though the user was not hiding his or her host name.

  239. Removed garbage characters from the message inserted to the compose window,
  240. when you press the email button in a Message Center message requester.
